Heat Transfer / Quenching

Heat Transfer Fluid in system units degrade over time due to thermal cracking and oxidation. Compromised oil can become a fire or explosion risk and therefore it is vital that heat transfer oils be tested regularly

The rate of fluid degradation can be influenced by :

  • Improper operating procedure / condition
  • Equipment layout/malfunction – damaged pumps or fouled heat exchangers
  • Contamination (moisture and other material)
